Burkesbus Tickets:
Your ticket is a record of our agreement to carry you or to arrange for your carriage.
The Company will not replace lost, mislaid or stolen tickets. You will be required to purchase a new standard fare ticket to enable you to travel.
Your ticket is non-transferable and may only be used for whom it has been bought. You must travel with a valid ticket. If a ticket is spoiled or tampered with, it will be invalidated.
Online Booking:
Single Tickets purchased through the online booking facility are only valid on the date of travel. The ticket guarantees travel for the specific time of travel, but may be used on at a different time on the same date, if there is space available.
Return Tickets: The outward portion of your ticket is only valid on the date on which they are selected and similarly the return element of the ticket is only valid for the date selected. The ticket guarantees travel for the specific time of travel, but may be used on at a different time on the same date, if there is space available.
10 Trip tickets are only valid for 14 days.
All tickets purchased through the BURKESBUS online booking facility are non-refundable.
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferrable, however an amendment system is in place which allows passengers to amend the date & time of their journey if amended at least 1 hour prior to the booked journey. Manage Booking part of our website.
It is the customer’s responsibility to have a pre-printed copy of their e-ticket available for scanning; or to have access to same on their mobile phone in a format suitable for scanning.
All passengers must produce a physical ticket OR an E-Ticket (on mobile phone or tablet) in order to board the coach. Passengers who only have the reference number of a ticket, without the actual ticket itself, will no longer be allowed to travel after this date.
Day Return Tickets:
Are valid for one outward journey on date of issue, and for a return journey on the same day.
Open Return Tickets:
Open returns are flexible tickets.
An Open return ticket is a return ticket ticket valid for 2 weeks. The ticket is valid from the date of departure printed on the ticket, and you need to make your return journey by the date specified. It is not possible to travel in the same direction twice on an Open Return ticket.
Tickets are valid for 14 days including the date of issue.
10 Trip Tickets:
The 10 trip ticket is essentially 10 trips between two points.
For example if you purchase a 10 Trip ticket from Galway to Tuam. You can travel between Galway and Tuam / Tuam & Galway 10 times. Each single trip counting as one. If you travel twice per Day the Ticket will last 5 Days travel. If you travel once per day the ticket will last 10 Days. The ticket does not expire for 14 days unless your trips are used within the time.
12 Trip Tickets:
The 12 trip ticket is essentially 12 trips between two points. (See examples above in 10 trip)
Children Fares:
Child fares as shown in the fare tables are applicable to children who are 2 years of age to 9 years of age.
All children aged U-10 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Children aged under 2 years may travel free when not occupying a seat and they must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Children aged ten years and under:
Children aged ten years and under cannot travel alone on any Burke Bros (Coaches) Ltd. service. They MUST travel with a parent or guardian, except when travelling with other children to and from school.
Primary school student fares:
Children aged ten years and under cannot travel alone on any Burke Bros (Coaches) Ltd. service. They MUST travel with a parent or guardian, except when travelling with other children to and from school
Free Travel Passes:
If you qualify for free travel, you must carry your pass with you when using Burke Bros. (Coaches) Ltd. Free travel passes are non-transferrable and can only be used by the named person. Passengers presenting a Free Travel Pass are required to have PHOTO ID eg. Driver Licence, Passport etc.
A Free Travel Pass may be confiscated if there are reasonable grounds for suspecting that the pass is being misused.
The Tax Saver scheme:
Burke Bros (Coaches) Ltd. Tax Saver Ticket only applicable to annual tickets.
Seat Belts:
You are required by law, to wear the seatbelt provided at all times whilst seated.
Alcohol / Drugs
Burke Bros. (Coaches) Ltd. reserves the right to refuse to transport a person:
a) Under the influence of alcohol or drugs,
b) Who is incapable of taking care of him/herself (this does not apply to persons who are accompanied by an attendant or nurse),
c) Whose conduct is such or likely to be such as to make him or her objectionable to other passengers or prospective passengers,
d) Who refuses to comply with any lawful rule or regulation. Such persons may be removed from the bus at such place along the route as the driver may select. Burke Bros. (Coaches) Ltd. shall not issue any compensation for passengers removed en route.
Smoking / Vaping
Smoking and vaping is prohibited on all BURKESBUS buses and coaches.
Food and beverages:
Passengers are not allowed to take onto our coaches any hot or odorous foods e.g. chips, takeaway meals etc. Hot drinks are permitted if they have a secure lid. We are entitled to refuse access to any passenger with hot or odorous foods.
Luggage / Lost Property:
All luggage must be labelled and is carried at owners risk.
Medication, money, travel/identity documents and other valuable items must not be carried in luggage but should be carried on the person at all times .Burke Bros. (Coaches) Ltd. cannot take responsibility for forgotten, lost, damaged, or stolen property during the bus loading/unloading period.
E-Scooters are prohibited on public transport and BURKESBUS do not carry E-scooters. We accept carriage of bicycles and E-Bikes on our services subject to luggage space. There is an additional €3.00 charge (including folding bicycles) per bike per single/return trip payable to the driver directly. A bike powered by battery must be disconnected in the luggage compartment.
If you find any property of any other person on any coach, you must hand it over to the driver. Please note all lost property items are only held for 30 days.
Make sure you are on the correct service:
You are responsible for boarding and getting off the service at the correct destination.
Delays:
Burke Bros. (Coaches) Ltd. will not be liable for delays caused by accidents, breakdowns, road conditions, weather and other conditions beyond its control.
Burke Bros.(Coaches) Ltd. does not guarantee to arrive at or depart from any point as a specific time.
Dogs and other animals:
Guide dogs accompanying passengers who hold a Registered Blind Persons Pass are carried free of charge on Burke Bros. (Coaches) Ltd. services.
Apart from the foregoing exception, dogs, cats or any other animals or live fowl of any description WILL NOT be carried.
Effect of late arrival:
Burke Bros. (Coaches) Ltd. shall not be liable to a passenger if s/he misses any service as a result of his/her late arrival, and shall not be obliged to hold up any service to wait for him/her if the passenger misses a service.
Timetable/Fares:

Passenger Seating:
Please note that the company does not guarantee a seat in the Company's buses or coaches on a particular service. If a bus full sign is displayed, you may have to wait for the next available departure time on the scheduled timetable.
